On May 18 1995, a psychedelic school bus with eleven people aboard left Needham, Massachusetts on its way to Seward, Alaska. During the next month these eleven strangers would live, sleep, and eat together as the Magic Bus made its way across the United States, up through Canada, and on to its final destination, a small fishing town south of Anchorage.

What happened along the way when this eclectic group was packed on the old school bus and forced to "rough it" for a month? Would the police be needed? The results might surprise you!

Bus Society documents the daily events and interactions of the group through the extensive use of photography, journal entries, and interviews. Drawing from over 1,500 photographs, 250 pages of interviews with group members, and the Author's own personal journal, this unique compilation allows the reader to see the trip through the eyes of all eleven travelers.

Before reality programming like The Real World and Survivor became staples of American culture there was Bus Society -- a voyeuristic look into American youth without the overblown hype, flashy camera angles, and contrived situations. Just real people and real interactions.

So, hop aboard the Magic Bus, and find out what happens on this most unusual trip.
